Remember Marlowe

This game is a short experience. Which takes inspiration from escape rooms, and the state of losing memories (Dementia). Your character (Marlowe) struggles with Alzheimer's and old age. You only have 5 minutes before Marlowe forgets and wakes up at their bed. Can you get out before that?

 With the limited amount of time, we (Risen Studios) tried to have an accessibility minded approach in the games design. For example no puzzle uses color, and the Soundtrack is made to give you the hint of how much time there is left. Marlowe is also a gender-neutral character, since we as a team felt that anyone should be able to relate to the character.

  Lastly, we wanted to raise awareness of Dementia, More specifically Alzheimer's which accounts for 60%-80% of Dementia sicknesses. Some of us in the development team has had relatives who suffered from some form of Dementia. We felt that we could raise the awareness, by trying to implement the challenges of Dementia through gameplay design. Thus telling a story of someone with Dementia through the gameplay.
